Irvine, CA, August 7, 2009 – OleumTech, a leading provider of industrial wireless automation systems, today announced the release of a new configurable digital IO module, as an addition to the WM3000 series of Expansion I/O modules. This highly flexible offering allows the ability to configure all eight channels as any combination of inputs, outputs or low frequency pulse counters for industrial automation and process control applications.
This versatile module supports the Modbus RTU protocol over 2-wire RS-485 bus and can interface with any third-party Modbus master device. The scalable design allows for 247 expansion modules to be multi-dropped to a single Modbus master device with convenience of RJ45 connector which drastically reduces the wiring installation time. This general purpose Modbus IO module is an easy drop-in interface for data acquisition systems for monitoring status or control system looking to drive discrete outputs (1A) for on/off pulse width modulated control.

This cost-effective IO expansion module is ideal for low number points where IO density is of prime concern. As every point can independently configurable as either inputs/outputs this eliminates the need to mix and match modules. The module is configured via windows-based software, BreeZ.
Offered in DIN rail package, the WM3000 fits in ultra-compact form factor (3.6 in. x 2.7 in.). A power supply range of 3-24Vdc also makes this module a perfect fit for wide range of applications.
