Irvine, CA, October 5, 2009 – OleumTech, an industrial wireless automation provider, today announced the release of the SM5000 series of wireless RTD temperature transmitters. Designed for use in its Wireless System, the RTD transmitter facilitates easy, rugged wireless temperature sensing with high repeatability and exceptional accuracy.
The wireless temperature sensor supports a wide temperature range from -50 to 750°F leveraging a 22-bit ADC measurement technology. The transmitter requires no calibration which provides users a plug-and-play solution for remote or difficult to access locations.
Wireless temperature transmitter is offered in two packages. One is a rigid mount version with an integrated RTD sensor ideally suited for direct vessel insertion. The other is a pipe mount design which provides a single RTD input (multi-vendor compatible) to support any 3- and 4-wire PT100 RTD sensor.

The nodes are available in a couple of packages that enable application-specific usage at tank farms, industrial process plants and other applications where accurate wireless temperature monitoring is critical” said Omer Qadri, Director of Marketing at OleumTech.
The RTD transmitter is an integrated wireless solution which includes a built-in antenna, internal battery, temperature sensor and wireless communication support in both 900MHz and 2.4GHz frequency radio models for worldwide installations. The SM5000 series can transmit 3000 feet away from the RTD sensor to WIO RTU Gateway that provides Modbus connectivity to SCADA controllers or PLCs.
Features include RTD lead wire compensation, moisture preventative potting seal, easy access to wiring connections and diagnostic reporting of transmitter’s health. Extended temperature range sensing and custom lengths are also available.
Each unit is factory tested and comes with a 2 year warranty.
